Tommorow, we're finally having my daughter's 2nd Birthday Party. Her birthday was actually 3 weeks ago, but in order for my mom to be able to come to the party, we had to push it back a few weeks, unitll she was able to fly home. Her party theme is the Disney Princesses, so I decided, the title and photo below would be appropiate.

Erin

Erin is a model that I was fortunate enough to work with. I love shooting with models, because it really is a different kind of shoot, than your typical portrait session. Erin was so much fun, and I couldn't have asked for anyone easier to work with.

Reconstruction

Just so you all know, I'm in the process of trying to change my blog. Unfortunately, I'm not exactly web-design savvy, so please be patient. You will also notice, that I'm in the process of changing everything from J. Marie photography to Jackelyn Marie Photography, due to the fact that there is another J. Marie photography already in existence, and that's just too confusing. I've also been working on a new border design for my blog images, which you'll be able to see on the image at the end of this post, so feel free to let me know what you think about it. I have finished my website, also. Unfortunately, I'm having issues with the hosting company. I will get the link posted, though, as soon as it goes live. Well, I'll leave you with a photo, as promised! :-)

Simple Things

It's always amazed me, how the most simple things, can be sometimes be the most beautiful. I love photographing simple little things. When you take the time to look at something through a camera lens, it really begins to put everything into perspective. I love my camera.

Colorado

It's been snowing all day, which made me decide to post a blog that doesn't involve winter in Ohio. I took these a while ago, but I thought some more pretty scenery would be a nice change of pace.

Yesterday, I decided it was about time for the puppies' first bath. Let me just say that attempting to bathe 5 (5 week old) puppies, while trying to watch a 2 year old is never an easy task. I know there's been some people wanting to see some pictures of the puppies, so here they are:

Rainy Day

Today is one of those all day-rainy days. I hate being stuck inside. Yesterday Abri and I took a nice, long walk. Apparently it was a little too long, because on the way back, she decided to sit down in the middle of the path. I ended up having to carry her part of the way, which is not an easy task, since she weighs over 35lbs. I was hoping to be able to do the same today (minus the me carrying her part.) I have come to the conclusion that from now on, I will probably just take the stroller. Well, I will leave you all with a couple photos I took of Abri over the weekend.

California

Last Summer my mom flew all 3 of my brothers, Eli, Abri, and myself out to California to visit her. Last week, I was browsing through some old pictures from last year, that I might like to use for my website and I came across my California pictures, which I hadn't done anything with, since I had taken them. I decided I would do a quick edit on some of them, so I could share them with everybody. 3 of them are from the beach and one of them is from Yosemite Nat. Park. I took over 1,500 photos while I was there, so this is just a light sampling!


This was unbelievable, and probably one of my favorite sights the entire trip.

Valentine's Day

Valentine's Day has come and gone, but I had to post a little blog about it. Any day that's gives my husband and I an excuse to spend the day together is alright in my book! :-) My Valentine's Day kicked off a little early when Eli brought me some flowers home the night before Valentine's Day, so of course I couldn't help but get a few shots of the flowers, before time starts to take their toll on them.

Warm Winter Day

Only in Ohio, can it go from the 30's to almost 60's in one day's time, then back to 30's in only a few more days! Anytime it gets nice, though, like yesterday...it automatically puts me in a super happy mood! So with the nice weather, of course I had to go outside a shoot a few pictures of Abri!

Abriana Grace

As a mother, my favorite subject to photograph is and will probablly always be: my daughter. Although, she doesn't like to make it easy for mommy, I still adore the pictures I take of her.
Yesterday, I decided I wanted to take some photographs of Abri outside at my grandma's house, for her 2nd birthday. We were told by my grandma right before we left, that I wouldn't be able to take pictures outside, because her entire yard was a muddy mess. For those of you who do not know me very well, I do have a bit of a stubborn streak in me, and when I set my mind to something, I will do everything in my power to make it happen. So...although it was chilly and the yard was a mess, I still managed to get a few photographs of Abri, before she fell in the mud.

A couple days ago, we celebrated my daughters' 2nd Birthday. It's amazing how fast 2 years can fly by. In honor of her birthday, I thought I'ld share with everybody some pictures I've taken of her, this past year. Enjoy!
